Text Box: Scott Banes, Chapter 4 Vice President, assumed the duties of President when Gary McClanahan resigned due to health reasons. Scott works for Motor Assist and has been involved with many duties for the Association. Please welcome Scott as he begins his new position.

Text Box: Chapter 4 was represented by Lori Coulter and Karin Cummins at the State TEAM meeting in Jefferson City on January 10, 2006. Harry Hill spoke about several bills before the house and senate that are of particular interest to the Association. All of these bills can be found on our website: www.moshea.org under the Harry

Text Box: Hill report. Harry also commented that it looked like the climate was favorable for a State employee pay raise this year. Several changes to the by-laws were presented by State President, Mark O’Dowd, voted on and accepted, including the allowance for a retiree delegate to serve at both the Chapter and State level.

Text Box: On February 7, 2006, Pete Rahn spoke to the Joint Assembly and the TEAM sponsored a hospitality table of donuts and coffee for the attendees. Mark O’dowd, Ron Cordes and Karin Cummins from Chapter 4 were in attendance.

Text Box: On December 18, 1950, thirty-three delegates representing each of the ten Districts and the Main Office, met in Jefferson City, Missouri with the purpose of forming a unified organization of state employees.

Text Box: A constitution and by-laws were drafted and ratified by the employees after that first meeting. The State Highway Employees Association (MOSHEA) was formed in order to be a voice for the employees

Text Box: The next state TEAM meeting is scheduled for April 10th, which is also Lobby Day. The meeting will begin at 9:00am at the Ramada Inn in Jefferson City, and when it is adjourned, we will go to the State Capital and serve ice cream to the legislature. Chapter officers are encouraged to attend.

Text Box: The annual picnic is scheduled for June 10, 2006 at Lake Jacomo at Shelter House #2. We will share more information as we get closer to that date.
